Now I Stand Tall

Walking in the dark,

Screaming for a light.

Scared to move an inch,

There's nothing in sight.

Begin to feel a presence,

Heart is beating fast.

Fear takes over my blood,

How long will this last?

Running, not looking back,

Hoping for a door.

Images fill my mind,

I can't take it anymore.

I fell to the ground,

Then the floor gave way.

Now falling in the dark,

I begin to pray.

Then Someone grabbed my arm,

And stopped my fall.

Put me back on solid ground,

And now I stand tall.

Battles Within

When your soul loses power,

And falls down an intense slope.

I will catch you at the bottom,

I will guide you to hope.

Everyone you've ever trusted,

Has stabbed you in the back.

Seems like your always crying,

Thoughts never cease to attack.

Battles don't stop within,

You can never find peace.

You can't run from your problems,

But you can be released.

When you fail to win a fight,

Get back up and stand your ground,.

I'm here to help you win the struggle,

I'll pick you up when enemies surround.

Just keep your faith,

It will get you through life.

Just don't give up,

Or you will live in strife.

The Beach

The waves fail to cease,

The birds soar in the sky.

The sun rises on the horizon,

It feels like July.

People running,

And playing with sand.

Building castles,

And loving the land.

The sun darkens the skin,

Sunglasses protect the eyes.

The water moves the shells,

Blue fills the sky.

Peaceful feeling,

As kids pass you by.

Sitting on the beach,

Watching the birds fly.

Poverty

People in this world crying,

Begging for food.

We just sit and watch,

I just want to obtrude.

We are raised to help ourselves,

And we shove those who cry out.

What have we become?

We've followed the wrong route.

Commercials show the terror,

And we shed some tears.

But what do we do for them?

Thousands die every year.

How can you do nothing?

I just don't understand.

Look at their faces,

Just lend them a hand.

You will change many people,

And give them a life.

Show you've got a heart,

Help them with their strife.

There Is A Plan For Me

Everyday gets harder,

But I will not quit.

You can drug me with sin,

But I will not split.

I love God more than all,

Nothing will seperate our love.

You can curse and beat me,

But he will help from above.

You can critize me,

And devour my hope.

You can turn me against me,

And hold me by a rope.

But let me tell you this,

I won't give up to you.

I will fight till the end,

I will make it through.

My faith will never flee,

God is stronger than all.

There is a plan for me,

No matter how many times I fall.

Walk With Your Head Up

People say to walk with your head up,

And face whatever comes at you.

Friends tell you to follow their ways,

And by that you'll make it through.

It's good to walk with your head high,

And to face the world you live in.

The one thing thats wrong is to follow others,

And think that you'll win.

The wicked will lead you astray,

And will bring you down so far.

In the end they'll stab you in the back,

And leave you with a scar.

How can you trust ones who don't care?

And beat you up inside?

Why set yourself up?

And let your mind subside?

Don't be a fool and walk with evil,

And don't dig your own hole.

Follow the one who created you,

And shaped your heart and soul.
